ABOUT US
Forest Conservation Victoria is a community/volunteer run, grass-roots group that are taking a stand against the destructive logging that is happening all over Victoria. We use non-violent, peaceful direct action to campaign for the protection of precious forests and wildlife.
Over 80% of the forests logged by the Andrews government ends up woodchipped for Reflex copy paper. Logging is fuelling the climate emergency, biodiversity crisis, decline in habitat for threatened species, devastating bushfires, threats to water security, and the ongoing destruction of the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri, Gunaikurnai and Taungurung people.
The importance of protecting and returning these forests to traditional custodianship cannot be overstated.
Victoria’s forests are critical carbon stores and incredible natural ecosystems. It is the government’s responsibility to ensure that they are preserved for current and future generations, but we can’t wait for them while the forests are still falling.
Forest Conservation Victoria acknowledges that we protest on the stolen lands of the Wurundjeri, Taungurung and Gunaikurnai people. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. Sovereignty has never been ceded.
